Pre loaded credit/debit cards

Are these good bad or indifferent?

Off for 2wks with the family to France and someone mentioned to me these cards which are loaded with euro's (or other currencies) and you use them insted of your debit card in shops restaurants etc.

Are they any good? Are they accepted everywhere with a visa/mastercard site? petrol stations toll booths etc?

Any feedback will be welcomed!!!

i used the caxton fx card both times this year...

easy to use, great exchange rate and you don't have the worry of losing your "real" card... definitely recommend it...

A friend used one from the UK Post Office when in Le Mans this year. Seemed to work perfectly well.
