I am planning on booking flights with Easyjet in the next few days, but can someone tell me (I have looked at their website, but I am even more confused now) do I require a passport for internal UK flights only? Or would a valid photo driving licence be enough?

Thanks

Valid photo id only.

However, you should need a passport to escape the colony wink

With the cheapo airlines, a good guideline is to always take a passport!

If flying domestic from Heathrow, you generally don't need any ID. Go figure.

No requirement from the Government/Homoffice to carry a passport for internals. However Airlines stipulate it is required. In case of emergency diversion/ and that only passport identification is given to supervisors, not for ID cards or driving licences.

passport is a must i'm afraid.

Gwiz.

oh and trust me on this one wink

Update...

Just received this woohoo

"Thank you for contacting us.

I can confirm that you will need to provide a photographic ID for a domestic flight. We will accept and prefer a piece of valid photographic ID as long as it includes;

1. Your Name (should match that on the booking).
2. Your Photo (should resemble you).

The document should be laminated, and issued by a government authority or a registered company or an organization which had to verify your identity in the first place. So, any item of valid photographic ID that meets the above criteria can be used as an ID on a domestic flight.

ID, driver's license and passport would be acceptable up to five years after expiry date for UK domestic flights. Please refer to the relevant national organization for the regulations regarding travel on an expired document on domestic flights.

Some examples of acceptable domestic ID:

- Valid passport,
- Valid photographic EU or Swiss national identity card,
- Valid photographic driving license,
- Citizencard.

I have included a link below for more information about photographic identification:

http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/regulations.html#ch...

I do hope I have been able to answer your question fully. To update your query please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you further."

Looks like I can book my flights biggrin

Quite.

That is what you get for realising less than 2 weeks before you fly that your passport is about to run out.

I'm pleased I had realised it then, it could have been a LOT more!
