This year's trip to Florida seems like a distant memory now.

Looking ahead to next year both the OH and myself fancy Canada and in particular Vancouver and travelling up into the Rockies.

Is it worth doing? are we wasting our time? what are the interesting places to visit?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you visit Vancouver and its islands you will never want to come back! You will spend the next few years plotting to return, permanently. Only New Zealand, IMHO, gets anywhere near the beauty of the place. And there is plenty to do there too. Whistler, horse riding, walking (yeuch!), mountain climbing, the city is incredibly vibrant with an huge Chinese population (om nom nom!). You will view the ocean from the city and behind you are the mountains. Take a trip to Vancouver Island (Victoria) and traipse round there for a while. You will love it! If you are there at the right time of year (Google is your friend) you could watch the salmon running up river (July, I think) in Vancouver Island or perhaps take a whale watch boat and see the Orca in all their splendour.

Yes it is worthwhile, do a search on the subject as there have been other threads recommending what to do quite recently.

It is a great place, I could bore you with what I would do and where I would go but the previous thread had lots of good info.

If you cannot find it I am sure I and other fans of the place can soon fill you in.

great place, nearly on a par with NZ, try to have a look around Jasper and Banff, how about timing your visit to tir up with the stampede on Calgary

All in all loved Canada

We hope to do this trip next year. Fly into Calgary. Drive out of Calgary asap into the Rockies. Take about 8-9 days to get to Vancouver, stay there 4-5 nights and fly out from there. bounce
