Hello all. My friend has decided to get married in Ansty Hall near Coventry on New Years Day so we are now trying to sort accommodation. There are 12 of us looking to rent a holiday cottage relatively close so I was wondering if anyone on hear knew of somewhere which might be available over the New Year period, say from around the 29th December to the 3rd Jan? I'm not finding much via google so thought I'd open this up to the Midland Pistonheaders. All help appreciated.

Cheers

Phil

Alternatively ,there's a Holiday Inn very close in Coventry -( Hinckley road Coventry CV2 2HP) -approx half a mile on Coventry side of J2/M6.Macdonald Ansty Hall is about a few miles on the other side of J2 .
Unless you're going to have designated drivers and organise your own transport , might be more practical/cheaper than trying to organise Taxis etc with New Years day rates .

Cheers for the replys. Looks like there's nothing about that will fit the numbers we need do am now going to have to turf out a couple of people bringing numbers down to 7.

In answer to that last question, I don't want to holiday near Coventry (I get nose bleeds north of Watford!!) but my prat of a mate has decided it would be great to get hitched in a hotel near there on New Years day so we're killing two birds with one stone.

Is it really that grim??

yes

Look to Warwick, maybe, or Leamington Spa. And even the latter is grim in parts.

So, a wedding on New Years Day, when all the guests will be hungover or resentful at having to forego the usual NYE celebrations, hotels will be at premium rates and there is no public transport. Your mate hasn't really thought this through, has he?

I did try to point that out .Not only will hotels beat premium rates , but any transport you can find will also . But the hung over attempting to drive will find that BIB will be only too willing to provide transport .
