New York isn't really a 'kid' destination, I'd be surprised if you find a deal that has 'Kids Go Free'.

It's also a lot more expensive than the likes of Orlando.

Macy's would probably be fun, and there should certainly be something going on in Central Park.

Don't forget the ice skating at the Rockefeller Plaza (and in Central Park as well) the elaborate Christmas light displays, Maceys, Bloomingdales etc etc. FAO Schwarz also do special Christmassy stuff.

NYC at Christmas is fabulous (if a little chillier than you might expect)
It's also quite a child friendly city actually (although DC is better in this regard) so you should have no problems entertaining the troops.
check out the NYC with kids pages on www.gonyc.about.com for more ideas.

Accommodation wise I would imagine you'll be lucky to get anything where kids go free.. I've not heard of the idea in NYC before.. there are a couple of decent suite hotels though which could provide an answer. (I've used the Embassy Suites near ground zero, and there's another suite hotel nearer Times Square)
Another option would be to short-term rent an apartment.. there are links to that option on the GoNYC site earlier.

Have fun... NY is a fantastic place.
