Stopping off for the night in Dover on our way to the ring on 30th Sept.

Is there anything worth doing in Dover? Restraunt bar, entertainment?

Yes, go up that really steep hill and come down in neutral going "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and see how long you can freewheel without touching the brakes!

Apart from that, nothing.

Oh. You could try hooning past the truckers if you've got a loud car, extra points for getting a trucker to jump out his truck in his suspenders! hehe

Apart from that, nothing.

The night 'old boggy' roams the town, with his black face and pale, staring eyes.

Go to Folkestone or Ashford and realise how lucky you are that you aren't in either of those dumps! And then consider how lucky you are not to live there!

Probably best to 'overnight' (25 mins away) in Canterbury to be honest.

I think it might be freshers week.

More nubile sporty 'moisticity' than you can shake a riding crop at. [fnap]

Ah, bugger.

Just saw this had been moved, and hoped it would be to the 'Kent and Essex' forum.

Like the time a chap started a thread in GG about how st he thought MX5s were, over-rated, he'd driven three and they were all crap, what's all the fuss about, etc. etc.

That got moved to the MX5 forum. smile

Hmm, so it looks like an early night is going to be order of the day in preparation for an early start.

Have you got to stay in Dover?

There are some nice places only 20 minutes away which would be much better.

Why would you want to stay in Dover rather than get across on the Ferry and stay "sausage-side" in France or Belgium, en-route to the Ring?
