Just been phoned and told our flight has been cancelled and not to worry as the agents have arranged an alternative with Thai Airways.
Has anyone flown with them lately ?Looking on the review sites it seems that they have good legroom but no personal screens for the in flight entertainment in the economy class although these reviews all seem to be a few years old.

Flew with them in January and was impressed. LHR-BKK
There was no seat back screen and where I was sitting in the middle of economy you pretty much couldn't see a full screen. (Just about parallel with the screen in the section I was sitting in).
Didn't bother me as I take a netbook on long flights and watch my own anyways.
Food was decent, and the most frequent run round with the juice/water/booze I've ever experienced.
If I was going in that direction again I'd go with them through choice.
My bag did go missing between BKK and Hanoi, but I'm not willing to blame Thai Air for that. BKK airport shunted the departure gate all over the place (I traversed the entire airport finding the right gate), and on arrival in Hanoi folk on the same flight that had arrived in BKK with Air France also had missing bags.
Methinks airport more to blame than airline.
These things happen, and if I could have been bothered could have squeezed 200 notes out the insurer for the inconvenience.
Waste of time though, as I don't think Vietnam makes socks and pants in my size there.
They all run up to me telling me I'm very tall, and I wander round thinking they're awffy wee.
Somewhat of a digression at the end there though.

I haven't used them long haul, but on a short haul they beat anything I am used to in Europe. One hour flight for £33!! This included private lounge at BKK with free food and drinks, the food was mixture of western breakfast buffet and snacks etc - perfect! Aircraft was new, tidy and well managed. Cannot fault them in any way.
+1 for EVA.
Go Prem Econ, for a good sized seat at a very sensible price.
My recollections of Thai Intl are of dated and worn aircraft.
With regrd to internal flights in Thailand, Thai Domestic is better than their Intl services and Bangkok Airways better still.
If you are flying LHR-BKK, the only direct non stop carriers are Thai, BA/Qantas and EVA. Everyone else puts down somewhere on the way and turns the journey into a gruelling test of will.

I prefer EVA.
I found Thai seats small (in the seat back height) and didn't have adjustable headrests.
That who we where meant to be flying with I found Thai seats small (in the seat back height) and didn't have adjustable headrests.

Pretty pissed off at the moment about the sudden change in flights as the internal flight time has now been changed to to 4am instead of 10,still nothing I can do about it at such short notice and not going to let it ruin my first trip back out there in 10 years
