Just got back from staying in a friends villa in Stoupa, Greece.

What a fabulous place. Perhaps not for younger PHer's as there is next to nothing to do.

However, if you are after unspoilt Greece this is the location.

Small town, one or two shops, lovely beach, mountains behind, olive groves everywhere. Around a dozen very good restaurants.

We ordered fillet steak in one. The plate came up with not one but three fillets each, beautifuuly cooked. The whole meal including wine was 23 Euros for two people. Admittedly the house wine was an acquired taste but after half a glass it was excellent. Good wine is available at a price but we didn't find the need, the local was fine. Because of the great atmosphere and nice people to chat with we found ourselves in the restaurant from 7ish until 10.30 or later. So relaxed.

The atmosphere was superb, no rubbish, no yobs no disco's, no fast food. Just friendly locals and a smattering of ex pats and holiday makers. Oh and great weather.

This may sound boring to some but if its a great quiet break you want, I cant recommend Stoupa highly enough.
