Where to stay and eat in Paris

Any help with some where special to stay and nice places to eat out.

Depends what you're looking for, the guide books will give you the Michelin star gaffs but for vfm eating the following 4 have been good
La Bourse ou La Vie (12 Rue Vivienne Arr2)
Cafe Med (77 Rue St Louis en L'Ile Arr4)
Gallerie 88 (88 Quai de l'Hotel de Ville Arr 4)
Le Gymnase (44 blvd Bonne Nouvelle Arr2)
As for places to stay I always do Paris on a budget and use Eurocamp Maison Lafitte for my base, again I suppose an idea of budget will help the PHers who've used Parisien hotels to give recommendations
