Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'm going in Jan also, first time, and recently booked tickets as part of the BA Sale. 2 of us are going for 3 nights, staying in Midtown and with breakfast included, for £480 each.

Be aware that it can be bloody cold in NYC in January...proper face numbing walking more than two blocks outside is too much cold. If it snows you'll need proper boots too trainers etc won't cut it....most kerbs seem to have a lake of slush that you have to jump across to cross the road!

Hopefully it'll be fine but check the forecast. I went there for a weekend in Feb with some mates quite a few years ago...my sister (who lives in NYC) warned me to tell everyone to bring proper clothes. None of us took it seriously and we all had to buy proper gear when we got there.

yes

We got caught out in mid April and could hardly find any decent warm clothes as they were out of season.

It was bloomin' freezing.

Yup, we had -15C and 35 knot winds with freezing fog that turned to ice on you, in March.
It can be seriously cold.

All the way to NY for just 3 nights eek

£2,200 does sound very cheap though! I wouldn't have thought it possible for 4 to do a hotel and flight for so little having spent most of September in the US (NY, Vegas & Texas).

It seems the bottom has fallen out of the market when it comes to economy travel, never realised it was that cheap.

Remember to wrap up warm, you won't believe how cold it is at that time of year! Have a great time thumbup

Travel in January is cheap...especially to somewhere like NYC when it's not the best time to go because of the weather! Everyone is skint after Christmas. You can get some amazing deals on ski trips in the first couple of weeks of Jan...most resorts are only half full.

2200 is about right been twice for 3 nights first time got a really good deal with Virgin paid under £400 each paid £450 each second time.

As said above can be very very cold we went March it was face numbing cold and it snowed and when it snows theres no messing came down very quick but teams came straight out and started clearing the streets and we found plenty of warm clothing on sale so if you forget anything will be OK.

I'm off in Jan again - short trip number 6! Just paid £1500 with BA includ connecting flight to LHR and upgrade to WT Plus and central Manhattan Hotel. The advantage of booking a 'package' is you are protected if your flight gets cancelled like mine did last year due to snow!

As above it will be very cold (not as cold as Feb when you will get a cheaper deal) and you need a hat with something that covers your ears. It was only -10 DegC last year but nice and dry.

Central Park lake iced over with frost/snow on the ground is a great sight especially if they have the ice rink open.
