Can anyone recommend a nice country hotel in Tuscany, with HEAPS of character?

Ideally looking in the area south of a line between Florence and Pisa and north of San Gimignano.

Budget up to about 300 eauros a night for a room...

Many thanks indeedy!

Our farmhouse is available for rent if you fancy that. We are near a town called Cortona (type that in on google maps) otherwise I can recommend some nice relais if that is more your cup of tea, of which I know of a very good one as the owner is a good friend and the quality of his relais is absolute top and prob within your budget per night.

I could be interested in that, but the link in your profile comes up with 'Oops, the page you're looking for no longer exists'

You may want to check it wink

Hi Louis

Thanks for the offer... It's actually for our honeymoon, so not appropriate at this point in time, but may take up your offer some other time smile

Justman, had a look at that hotle and it looks very nice.

Also found this one http://www.mrandmrssmith.com/luxury-hotels/italy/t... which looks quite appealing. Do you know anything about it?

Cheers
Jim

Couple or recommendations from me but maybe not in the area you are exactly looking for but both very good.

Certaldo - 15 km from San Gimignano and on the rail line from Florence to Sienna. (about half way between the 2)

Near Sienna and you must have a car.

Hi Jim,

I don't know anything about Villa Bordoni I'm afraid. We stayed at Borgo Santo Pietro for our honeymoon in August. It was fantastic however very expensive and a little too formal. I have to admit I preferred staying at Villa Sassolini. Have a fantastic honeymoon!
