I'm off up to Edinburgh tomorrow - Finally starting my Scotland Road Trip (or part of it) - The long haired OC has expressed that she'd like to undertake a ghost tour while we're in Edinburgh.

I've seen that Lonely Planet recommend Mercat Tours (http://www.mercattours.com/home.asp) but I was wondering if anyone here has any experience and can recommend any tours etc?

Cheers smile

We did one a few years ago , i cant remebmer the name but there are advertising boards on Princes Street and the road leading to the castle which i cant remember the name of .
The tour was very good to be honest and included a tour to
a old concentration camp / cemetary accross the greyfriars bridge .

We went on one earlier this year with the 3 kids - good fun and ended up in underground cellars.

I've been on one of their tours, good fun. It ended with us all in a room at their headquarters having a drink!

Ended up going on the Mercat tour.. and being whipped on Mercat Cross too.. which I think I enjoyed a tad too much...

I'd recommend them too, they seem to have fairly knowledgable guides - or good blaggers..
