My brother and his family are moving to San Francisco mid November and I might go out to see them towards the end of Nov and stay for a month or so.

I would quite like to see some of the National Parks at this time like Yosemite and any others nearby. I appreciate its going to be winter but has aybody ever done a fly drive type thing in this area at this time of year ?

I know i'm going to have to watch out for some of the roads to the parks being closed and limited access but I reckon there must be some worth while sights at this time of year ?

Bloody hell - give 'em a break, I say. They'll still be wondering which way is up by the time you show up on the doorstep (for a month!)

As an immigrant myself, I can tell you, they're going to need a few weeks to get sorted.
Had my brother suggested that to me, I'd have told him to do one.

I was kidding,Simon. If they invited you, they probably have all manner of domestic chores lined up for you.
It is a proper train-wreck when you first arrive though, particularly waiting for the container. My wife nearly stabbed me a number of times, while her possessions were afloat. Take 'em some tea bags and chocolate - they'll love you forever.

...and HP Sauce! A1 Steak Sauce isn't a brilliant substitute.

I think your brother wants you there to stop his wife from stabbing him. hehe
There will be loads to do.

SF can be quite chilly in winter. Not as cold as the UK, but chilly all the same. It's not all like Baywatch when you're further north in California.
