My cousin is getting married in Naples Florida at the beginning of December and there are 4 of us who are hoping to go (me, wife, my cousin and her hubby).

They are getting married at the Ritz Carlton so it would be good to stay there. Prices are about $350 per room per night and we are planning on staying 3 nights, flying out Thurs (wedding on Friday) and coming back Sun.

I just need advice on flights, car hire, visas etc..

We live in Lincolnshire and my cousin is in Sheffield but we are prepared to fly from London if flights are more widely available from there.

Thanks for reading

Flights - there is an airport in Naples, FL but you'd need to connect when coming from the UK (so a bit of a pain in the arse). I flew into Miami and drove across (about 2-3 hours drive if I remember right).

Visas - assuming no criminal record and British citizens then ESTA is all you need.

Car hire - Miami airport has the usual suspects.

If anyone going does have anything untowards in their background then it's probably too late to apply for a visa.

There's Southwest Florida airport in Ft Myers and you could fly Delta from Manchester to Atlanta (we've done that a few times en-route to WDW) and then fly on with them to Ft Myers. No idea if there are suitable connection times though - Expedia is a good place to look at all the options.

Bear in mind that if you fly into Miami you'll arrive late afternoon so you'll be driving to Naples in the dark which might not be much fun - you might want to stay in Miami for the first night.

For the car, our usual drill is to book in the UK with someone like http://www.usrentacar.co.uk - it's way cheaper than doing it in dollars and then separately adding all the insurances etc.
