Apparently since the end of Sept 2010 Mexico are no longer accepting US Dollars

Can anyone confirm this if it is really true, or just an idea the Government wants to try and push along. We’re off to Cancun soon, as have about $150 USD (that's what we've always used out there) but need to get some more. No point getting USD if Mexico Pesos is now what they want…?

Anyone been here since the end of Sept. Also can we still pay the exit tax in USD or does that also now have to be in Pesos…?

They still accept USD and it is like anywhere else, if you go looking for trouble you will find it, somewhere like Cancun you will be fine.

If you have nothing to add, then don’t. How is your comment going to help me…?

That’s like saying, ooh, you live in the midlands, oh, I hope you don’t need to buy any printer/toner cartridges soon…!

Oh come on. Mexico is a bit, well, naff. Aren't you confined to hotel boundaries because of the risk of being done in? Or was that in the past. If so, then you may as well go anywhere that's hot and by a beach.

do you live in a cave?
I happily traveled around Mexico for several months earlier this year but it's probably better (for the rest of us) that you stay at home hehe

And the local tourist trap is going to tell you that they can't sell to you because you are using USD ? Not likely.

Getting worse too.

I have to go to Mexico and not for tourism either. Not worried.
