I am bored so might take advantage of the P&O 2for1 minicruise to NL. I'ts working out at £48 each to go for the 3 day option, but I'm having trouble finding a cheap hotel/b&b for Friday night. Talking under £60 for either a double or twin room, can be in Rotterdam or Amsterdam. Most places seem to stipulate 2 or 3 night minimums at the weekend. Hostels are out, must be a private room for 2 people.

Any ideas/recommendations? Is there a dutch version of travelodge?

A bit over budget, but if you can, try this: http://www.euromast.nl/en/sleep-wakeup

just in case anyone is interested, i managed to work out that lastminute.com's mystery 4 star hotel is the moevenpick for £74 a night [saving £105]
http://www.moevenpick-hotels.com/en/pub/your_hotel...

and their mystery 5 star is the amrath for £110 a night [saving £140]
http://www.amrathamsterdam.com/en/home/

went for the moevenpick as by the time i'd figured this out the amrath had sold out.

Whatever you do book it beforehand for Amsterdam. If you turn up 'on spec' you will get ripped off big time.

Stayed at the Hotel CC earlier this year and very impressed. Right on the edge of red light district but quite reserved, very clean, modern and very quiet with no intrusive noise from outside or the room next door.
