Delta airlines to usa ?
Discussion
Internationally they are bearable but the domestic leg can be awful, late, or worse cancelled, no food or drinks even for 6.5 hrs to Seattle, hate them.
JFK can also be a total horror to clear US customs, I frequently have missed connecting flights here because of combination of immigration and security to get back into the Delta terminal, you must clear immigration and customs collecting your bags before going back through the whole process of checking in and leaving luggage again. Last time I landed here with 3.5 hours to make next flight I was still in security queue when plane left, they did put me on the next flight but that was then almost 2 hours late.

Flew with them to JFK from Copenhagen last week, average at best (IMHO).
I'll admit I'm spoilt as I've flown Emirates and BA long-haul in the last year but I guess the service fitted the price.
Food was pretty dire, bread must have been 4 days old at best. Chicken "risotto" was gravy with very large lumps in I think, certainly not the worst meal I've ever had on a plan (waves to Thomson Fly if they're lurking).
Service could have been better. I overheard one of the stewardess's at the gate ask where she was actually flying to and the confusion continued from there. (Toilet blocked on the way out which they solved by pouring three litre jugs of coffee down it !).
No seat back tv's or anything like that, just 4/5 old-school 14" portable tv's jammed into the roof (with the sound intermittent on the outward leg, and completely not working on the inbound leg. My boss flew the same route a few months prior and reported the same problem).
The worst part was walking to the "galley" to ask for a glass and water and being told I'd have to wait 15 mins as they "were preparing for drinks service", yet I could see a bottle and a plastic glass on the trolley in front of me.
If the price is right, go for it. Otherwise investigate if there is a code-share with Air France available ?
Also, due to land at 4.30pm NY but due to a delay to takeover and a 90 minute queue at immigration I didn't get in a cab until 7.30pm, which put my restaurant reservation in Manhattan at 9pm in the balance. Just so you're aware...

thanks chrisdk better brace myself for crap flight then. Will have to anaesthetise myself with booze, sounds like double orders from the trolley are in order.
We usually long haul emirates, etihad or b.a., so will be getting it in the neck from mrs 4sure, but it WAS cheaper oops
Delta only serve complimentary booze on flights over 6 hours, so you're only just over the threshold! We usually long haul emirates, etihad or b.a., so will be getting it in the neck from mrs 4sure, but it WAS cheaper oops
