Happened to me about 20 years ago on honeymoon. Drove around Europe (got as far as Budapest), stopped at a hotel in Leuven, Belgium that was run by a nun (and not the good kind ). Our names were still different in our passports so she demanded to see the marriage certificate before we were allowed to stay.

The next morning she sat up the front of the breakfast room glaring at us while we ate breakfast, it was like a scene from the Blues Brothers. Still, got me prepared for married life (if that's OK with you dear )
