Hi,

So I'm off to Goa in two weeks. We are staying near Anjuna but will travel around. Where would you recommend?

I'm not really into beaches apart from a bit of swimming or watersports.

Thank you in advance.
Si

You're going to Goa and you dont like beaches???

I got back from Goa about 2 weeks ago. There isnt an aweful ammount to do but check out the various beaches and markets. I stayed for 1 week in South Goa, Cansaulim and 1 week further north in Bardez. You could go to Panaji (Panjim) and have a look around although i didnt think it was up to much. Also check out Mapusa.

Thank you.

I like beaches just not sunbathing.

Southern Goa is quieter and more relaxing, less spoilt as a result. North is busier but also more to do.

Have a stroll round Panjim, its a nice little portugues style place. Takes about 10 minutes on a moped and about 20 mins on a local bus.

You could also head off to Hampi, its a 9hr train ride though but you go through some lovely countryside. Its probably worth staying a day or 2 in Hampi.

Best bet is to buy a lonely planet india and see whats around.

I spent 3/4 weeks in goa awaiting for the monsoon to pass but if I remember rightly I spent most of that time pissed up on local hooch.
