I'm travelling to Germany on Monday, checked passport last night and of course it expired back in August redface

So, called those lovely UKPA people and managed to get an appointment for tomorrow. I was told that I should complete sections 1, 2, 3A and 9 within the application form. Div question - I assume I need to get hold of an application form and complete before I turn up tomorrow? Can I download a copy? This page doesn't say http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Pas...

TIA

You need a passport to Germany? Can you not travel on your EU driving licence?

Do you not get it from the Post Office?

The application form
How to get it
You can get the form in four ways. You can:

•complete the application form online, in which case IPS will print out the completed form and send it to you to sign and return with the supporting documents
•collect it from a Post Office branch that offers the Check & Send service
•request an application form online and IPS will send it to you in the post - allow up to five working days for delivery
•call the Passport Adviceline 0300 222 0000 and ask IPS to send it to you in the post - allow up to five working days for delivery

Yup, it's just that you won't be able to get back into the UK without your passport, have a wee looky at "Schengen area" on google.

I guess I'll need to shoot to the post office then. I'm surprised that there is no online PDF to download and complete - I guess as nobody has pointed one out, there isn't one! Thanks all

I did the same as you earlier in the year (though with a bit more time to spare!). Horrible feeling. Anyway, although I can't recall if I downloaded the form (actually I think they sent it after I made the appointment) the office will have the necessary forms available to complete while you enjoy the queue. They also have a photo booth. I drove up to Peterborough rather than struggle into London.

OK, in retrospect this is probably not very useful to you.

Oh and make sure your photos conform with the rules that they provide in great length on the website, plus the few more secret rules that they keep to themselves.

Kudos

I think there are only a few easy questions to answer (name, old passport num etc), so don't fret too much if you can't get form.

Remember to bring your old passport!
