Anyone know of the site that has unusual places to stay ie windmills, forts, shepherds huts etc?

I thought it would be the National Trust but can find no mention on it's website. Some, a few years ago, showed me a book with great photos of the various properties for rent but I just cannot remember the society that dealt with it all.

Cheers.

The Landmark Trust owns some interesting places to stay, including towers and follies.

Knoydart?

A community of 100 people with no road in (you can get there by a long walk or by boat).

Home of Scotlands most remote pub.

The Old Forge Inn is a great little place smile
I'll throw Neist Point Lighthouse on the Isle of Skye into the mix too!

There used to be a self-contained apartment that you could rent overnight at Spitbank Fort in the middle of the Solent. Last I heard, the previous owners had sold the fort and I believe it may be under refurbishment. Possibly one to check back on.
