I am going to Les Arc 1800 in January and as I have never been, I was wondering what the runs were like and also if anyone has skied the 7 km Aiguille black run.

How steep/serious is this run as my mates are adamant I ski it, and just want to know what I have let myself in for?

If you're a fairly competent skiier, then it shouldn't pose too much difficulty. My best advice, like most black runs for the first time is to take it easy and once you've done it a couple of times, you'll know what to look out for.

I've attempted it a couple of times on a board, albeit ending up on my arse or making windmills a few times on each run. Les Arc is great though, as well as La Plagne. Plenty of variety in my opinion.

It's not really a difficult run if I remember correctly, it is more a red with black bits. The top bit is steep. If you keep following it down (after it turns red) there is a black off the side called droset, try that one for a challenge. Like with any run how tough it is depends on the snow conditions massively, and also how good you are! I'll be there in Jan too (well in La Plagne)

grumpy Wish I could be going too. Has been 2 years since I last had a winter holiday and I'm desperate to get out there again.
