Does anybody here know where I can find out the status of Brussels airport at the moment? I'm sat in Liege watching the snow fall thick and fast, so I'm starting to think I might need an alternative route home tonight...

If it helps I can see the airport from my office and there are planes taking off. Around here there is snow on the verges but the roads are clear and the sun is shining. My journey to work was faster than normal, the Ring was empty. More snow forecast for this evening though.

Thanks for that, the website wasn't working at all this morning.

Seems flights into Germany and to the east seem to be getting cancelled, otherwise it's just a delay. So fingers crossed...

Well that's not gone too well. Currently sat at the eurostar terminal waiting for the last train home. Got lucky and had wifey book me a ticket as I got the train over from the airport to Zuid.

Fingers crossed I can get home the other side. Just need to get my car from the airport and my bag from wherever it's ended up as I had to leave it at the airport... frown

If anybody thinks international travel with work is fun and glamour, think again!

My guess is that the plane I was supposed to be on got stuck elsewhere. It was set as delayed 4 hours before it's departure time, which is odd but could add weight to my theory.

I was heading to Manchester from Warsaw yesterday evening, via Munich. WAW to MUC was only slightly delayed, ended up with the MAN flight being cancelled at 2330 and I ended up on the SQ flight at 0610 this morning - kipped for 3 hrs in the terminal - fortunately the Senator lounge had a good selection for brekkie!

It ended up that the SQ flight was 3 hrs late leaving for various reasons (one being it used up too much fuel during de-icing and had to return to the terminal for a top-up).

All in all it took 21 hrs to do a journey that would usually take 6 hrs inc. 3 sat in MUC.

Now have 3 weeks without travelling!

My flight statistics since March this year:

84 Flights
Flown distance 76,734 km 47,680 miles
Flight time 6d 1h 20min

Shortest flight MUC-PRG (266 km)
Longest flight ZRH-CHI (7,136 km)
Northernmost airport Gdansk (GDN)
Southernmost airport Chicago - O'Hare International, IL (ORD)

Think yourself very lucky, I'm currently sat in an airport in Ghana hoping BA can get a plane here. Current estimation is a 4 hour delay, though as I'm not the most relaxed traveller I'd already got here 4 hours before the original departure time!!

Another flyer here.....
Only 82 flights so far this year.... + 1 more to come. No idea on the km flown, but 24 of mine have been Moscow or returning which is about 2000km.
worst year was 2008 with over 130 flights... fun? I don't think so...

I think I made the right decision to leave my bag after I checked it in and make a dash for the Eurostar on Friday night!! I could still be out there now if I'd waited
