So here I am stuck in an airport lounge in West Africa.

My flights been delayed until 4am (same time zone as the UK) so I now have 8 hours to kill if I'm lucky and BA manage to get a plane to us!

Apart from getting drunk on the free booze, has anyone got any good suggestions for how to survive the impending boredom?

To set the scene, there's a TV screen with CNN News, an annoying woman glued to her mobile, and a group of young children with gadgets constantly beeping and younger children screaming.

I may have mis-understood, but no good looking women in here whatsoever I'm afraid. All the western women here are do-gooder school building types in need of a good wash and travel economy class so not allowed in here.

I'll take a look, though I have to keep the volume on mute and thought video might kill my battery life.

It said domestic and euro flights - so I assume international may still be running.

Heathrow closed for most of the day too I think.

Ill be at work in about 60mins time so if anybody wants specific info on any UK/Euro airports I can try and help out.
Hi A lex. Not today, but tomorrow afternoon my wife and son are expecting to fly into Heathrow from Shanghai (Virgin VS251). If you're able to get any info on that nearer the time, it would be much appreciated! I'm worried they might not get back, or that I might not be able to get to Heathrow to collect them! What a nightmare! 13 hour flight with a toddler too, so she'll have a face on whatever happens! oh dear!

My missus has gone to pick up her sister whos flying in from Dubai to Heathrow, she reckons thats the last plane they're allowing to land. Anyone else hear anything on this? She also reckons the roads are pretty bad including the M25.

It's certainly not shut "all day"

It's only temporary whilst they're clearing the runway.

One thing twitter is actually useful for.

http://twitter.com/#!/heathrowairport

The snow has pretty much stopped here near Heathrow and the forecast is not showing any more heavy stuff so things should start picking up again once the runways etc are cleared of snow.

Can you not try to gain support for a military coup? It would save you coming back to this weather at all.

The moose's has just text to say her sisters plane has only just parked, 3 hours after landing, sounds like chaos down there at the mo. Good luck to anyone whos planning on flaying today or tomorrow...

Hmmm... Shanghai flight is now cancelled, and all the Virgin numbers seem to be invalid! This is a bit of a disaster! Anyone here from Virgin and can help my gang get onto the next available flight?!
