Piste map tracking on a iPhone
Discussion
I tried this last year with an App called iTrailMap 3D (not in those resorts though)....you need to leave the app running so it kills your battery. I think it gives you your total vertical and distance.....did it once out of interest, can't say I will bother ever again. May be other better stuff.

I have just been using "Ski Tracks" which was great. It doesn't use the phone signal so there are no roaming charges or signal loss issues and very little battery drain as it runs in the background (you can use all the other phone functions without affecting it) You can save each day or run separately, and it will show things like max speed, ski distance, altitudes, slope angles etc (for each run as well as totals) also plots your runs on Googlemaps. There are other features that I didn't use such as ipod control and adding photos. For 59p I thought it was excellent (there is also a free "lite" version if you don't feel like pushing the boat out)
