Florida (Orlando) Villas & Hotel Options
Discussion
Hi,
I'm trying to find a decent villa / hotel in Orlando for 4 people (3 bedrooms) but I'm really struggling with our budget. Obviously, I'm trying to get a deal as cheap as possible but once you start adding the extras the price suddenly rockets. Our budget is £1000 per person, this should be for flight & accomodation and preferably insurance and car hire.
I've never bought a package holiday before so I keep seeing prices that are reasonable but when I get to the total cost the price has increased considerably.
We're looking to stay for 2 weeks at the end of September (starting the 19th). We want to visit most things (especially Universal Studios several times) and because we will(hopefully) have a car we don't mind being in a villa that's a short(ish) drive away from the parks and such.
Does anyone have any villa / hotel suggestions? Or anything else that might help save costs such as buying park tickets over here?
Thanks.

Keep an eye on flights etc, they can vary quite a bit.
We went nearly two years ago, and had been finding the prices sky high. First Choice suddenly became really cheap. Paid £1200 for three of us, flight, car and 4* (decent) hotel.
Keep looking, but have not been able to replicate it as yet...

Andy,
We went last July and absolutely loved it, here's my thread including preparation, tips, and a small report. You might find it a good read

Also, we stayed in this Villa in Kissimee and I'd happily recommend it, the owner's a Brit and it was all great.

Disney themselves are _desperate_ at the moment. Take a look at some of the on-site stuff as they are giving away meal plans which saves a fortune.
We stayed in a three bed villa in Saratoga last year (we've always done villas before) and it was great being so close and using the their transport to get to/from the parks (I could have a beer!)
Hi,
I have a villa 10 mins from disney, 3 bed 2 bath pool/hot tub. Unfortunatley I have a reservation for that week, but my managment company should be able to help you out. If you like the look of mine, Richard Hall manages a few in the same resort. His website shows lots of available villas, but he only manages them in Glenbrook. The resort itself is very quiet, easy to find and has a good selection of shops within 5 minutes.

I would expect he should be able to get you a vila for around $100/night.
As for car hire, I use ebookers, and book a midsize SUV with Alamo. £168 for 10 days. ALl I would say is dont accept the upgrade package they offer you at the desk as the SUV's etc are on a pick which everone you want at the garage, so you might pay for a "luxury" SUV, but its a free for all when you reach the garage, just pick the best one there. I wouldn't pay for hiring GPS either as it is pretty straight forward to get about Orlando......I got an app for my iphone that works well enough (in fact better than my mates tom tom!).
Park tickets are very expensive if bought individualy by the day, you are much better off buying a pass for them all if you plan to see a few.

you can usualy find a good deal here, no agents to go through etc
http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/usa.htm
tickets wise i would have a look at the flex ticket, should cover all you need and you can order it in advance here.
We usually stay down a bit from the main touristy bit near Champions Gate. Has all the things you need near by (groceries etc) and is around a 20-25 minute drive from universal etc.

Thanks for the offer. Your villa looks great - shame about the dates but if we change our mind about the dates I will keep you in mind.I have a villa 10 mins from disney, 3 bed 2 bath pool/hot tub.
