I know the sbubject of disney comes up a lot on here but i have a speific question.

What sort of cost is it to drive down?
Fuel is not a problem as my company will pay for the fuel.
So train or boat
and what i really need to know is the toll costs, maybe a total figure guess or if someone has recently done it.

The kids are 6 and 2 hence why i was thinking of driving as would be easier than the train.

Also hotels, was thinking of staying onsite however if have the car could stay off sight. Is there parking charges for the day?

Cheers

Hi

I went last year, door to door from Calais it was 200 miles, really easy under 3 hours.

I chose the tunnel for speed, return for 3 days was around £45. Tolls each way were around £15.

Driving by far the best (and cheapest way to do it)

As for parking on site I don't know as we stayed in one of the disney hotels. Down side is hotels are expensive, food not great...but kids enjoy it..

Cheers

It's not far, toll will be around £30 return IIRC, it's been 12 months cant remember exactly. You could probably avoid toll roads all together if you wanted to do it on the super cheap, might take a while to get there though (and depends how good your satnav is!)

Staying in a local travel lodge type hotel and driving there will also save a fortune. Lastminute.com is your friend here, search for eurodisney and you'll find lots of local travel lodge things, with distances to the park and probably a continental breakfast thrown in. Expect the town to be a st hole though. Decent deals can be had at the "Disney Castle" hotel an independent themed hotel with a 15 minutes free shuttle bus to the park. It's a 4* IIRC so not mega cheap. I recall we paid £100-ish a night for a family room, double bed with a set of bunks behind a curtain, was fairly nice to be honest and I've stayed in far crapper hotels for more money!

Parking is around £10-£15 a day, so the shuttle bus option does have it's benefits.

January is the best time to go, it's empty, well, emptier than in summer, 30-45 mins queues for most stuff at worst, probably less. I've seen it very quiet in Jan, been 3 times now. It is however f'ing freeeeezing, thermals/base layer are highly recommended! We wore our skiing stuff!

One or two of the rides will be closed in the winter, they still do all the parades and gubbins though.

We did all the rides and watched a parade or two in both parks in two days. Any longer and you'll probably be sick of the whole thing!

The buffalo bills show if a bit of a laugh, order your drinks (lots of it) before the show, couple of bottles of red each should do the trick, it then becomes hillarious at about half way through.. especially when the cows decide to hump each other. It is quite expensive though.

Other tips, do watch the car/stunt show, it's pretty good (and a free one), Hollywood hotel lift thing is IMO the best ride there, aerosmith coaster is good too. All of these are in the disney studios park.

If you're trying to do it on a budget (no brainer this one) take packed lunches, it's horribly expensive for the junk-food crap and the queues can be epic to get a sweaty burger. For anything approaching proper food you'll need a second mortgage, the patience of a saint (service is terrible) and for the money it's still ste.

Definitely avoid evening meals in the Disney Village if you're doing it on a budget.

Any other questions just ask!

Cheers

Dave

We have just booked up for May. We are staying there for two nights before going on to our main holiday. Two nights in one of the superior rooms at the Disney Cheyanne Hotel (two adults, one child and one infant) and three days in the parks has come in at £380. One of the cheaper hotels, picked as the kids will like the Cowboy theme. A two day park ticket for two adults and a child under 12 (infant is free) comes in at almost £300 so a no brainer to stay on site. Dover Dunkirk ferry crossing, which adds about 30km compared to Dover Calais, cost £60 return.

Thanks guys, helpful stuff.
Swanjack that seems like a good price, will look into that in more detail. Dont mind spending that much.

Looking at going around 10th March as it is my eldest 6 birthday.
