Going on holiday on the Continent to a number of towns / cities, but need hotels to stay in for a night or two in each place. Not looking to spend loads, so I'm thinking something along the lines of a Premier Inn or Travelodge would be the best bet for a fuss-free experience? Thing is, neither of those chains have hotels in the places I'm going: Belgium (Ypres), Luxembourg (Luxembourg City), Germany (Frankfurt Motor Show) or Denmark (Legoland Billund). Someone at work mentioned Formule 1 and, after looking online, they seem really cheap. Are they alright or do you get what you pay for? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Or Accor? A friend of mine stayed in a Formule1 this summer - not recommended.

This.

Also there used to be a chain called Campeville, Camperviller, something like that, green background with red writting. I stayed in once a few years back seemed ok. Not sure if they are still around.

we stayed in a chain called Ballidens in France, probably more like Travelodge than Premier Inn, they are all over France.

Yep, that's Campanile. There's even some in this country.

When you say Premier Inn , do you mean a step up from the terrible likes of Etap or Travelodge ?

If so avoid Formule1 in France.

Yeah, I'm after something a little better than Travelodge, who I've found to be less than nice in the past. Premier Inn, however, have always been very nice and are well worth the little extra!

Not all IBIS hotels are comfortable, btw!
Check reviews online.

For Luxembourg City I would suggest the new Novotel (City, not Kirchberg) rather than IBIS.
The IBIS hotels are either next to the Airport or the Autoroute in Bettembourg.

Enjoy your trip!

Accor is the parent company of the F1, Etap, Ibis, Novotel hotels and more.

http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/united-kingdom/index...

Its a good website to try with alot of choice, and I've found prices to be the same as the individual hotel website offers.

Found Formula 1 to be just a bit too grotty for my liking.

ETAP are very basic but extremely convenient for just a place to sleep.

Accor properties tend to go in order of luxury - Formula One, ETAP, Ibis, Mercure.
