I need to get from London (ideally LHR) to San Francisco overnight. All the flights to the West Coast seem to leave the UK too early - I need to leave work, check-in, fly around 8-9pm, get to SFO for bedtime or later, then have a job interview the following day in SFO, then fly home. This way I only miss one day of work if I do this on a Thursday night/Friday.

I have flown to SFO over 100 times so I know I can handle the overnight-longflight-ness/interview situation. Trouble is finding a night route.

I'm thinking of getting into Chicago or Atlana and taking a redeye from there to LAX or SFO. Trouble is even the redeyes leave before 1am-ish local time I need.

Suggestions welcome (and yes, I know a video conference would be better!). If not I'll just have to take an early AM flight and do the interview in the PM when I land, hopeing the flight isn't late.

BA have a 19-55 to JFK from LHR.
AA have a 20-00 to the same destination from LHR.

Should be a wide range of onward flights to LAX from JFK.

When we looked, Virgin seemed the best to SFO, but I presume you've already checked that route. If you've not already tried skyscanner.net, then get on there, best flight search engine I've found and loads of options

Thanks. I've flown Virgin to SFO so many times the security teams know me by name as I approach.
