Wife and I have decided to go with the kids to france this saturday for one night. We can get the euro tunnel to Calais on saturday morning do some shopping have lunch etc. We are looking for somewhere to stay within half an hour drive that won't cost more than £100 for the night for a family of 4. Can anyone help

When I was a kid and my dad used to work in Calais we used to stay here http://www.hotel-lescale.com/modulosite2/accueil.h...

Now my brother, sister and I are off here for one night in April for a trip down memory lane. My bro stayed here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.

Thanks for that. Nothing available this weekend. We are thinking of heading to De Panne in Belgium instead!!

The coastline between Calais and Boulogne is actually v.pretty and there is a good coast road (the D940)between them which is a Michelin scenic route. It also passes through Wimeruex which is a pleasant seaside resort with quite a few hotels. Once in Boulogne visit the old town on the hill and take the kids to the fab aquarium (Nausicaa) by the harbour.

No need to scamper off to Belgium because the centre of Calais is not v.exciting.

Use www.viamichelin.com for route planning and to find other hotels.
