Rights guys, flights been booked and now need to find a good hotel.

I am on business for 6 nights end of feb, will be going to Putra World Trade centre for atleast 4 days. I am looking for a 5*, can go out in the evening for meals/drinks walking distance from hotel, therefore city hotel is prefered. But at the same time i need to be at Putra World Trade centre 9-5 for 4 days.

Let me know your thoughts.

If you don't mind a short taxi ride each way, I would go for the Mandarin Oriental next to KLCC and the tower. Faultless service from the moment you arrive to when you leave, stayed last year for about 100 quid a night.

For sure! towers are within walking distance of the bars on Jalan Ampang, also Ampang point, great for both shopping and bars!

PWC is on the mono rail, so any where in Bukit BingTang or Sultan Ismail (Equitorial is good), or the Concorde , the Hard Rock is in the Concorde. Both these are by Mono Rail station.
Don't even think about driving there, use the mono rail, especially coming home, It can take two hours from PWC to Bukit Bingtang on a wet Friday, send me a PM and if I'm in town we can meet for a beer if you want.

If you do stay at the Manderin, find your way back on the mono rail and the Putra line (change ar Dang Wangi), because again a wet friday can be hours.
I can't think of a single bar in Ampang Point, and I was there Sunday, there are a few places Expats use after work nearby but nothing for the night.
Mandarin is walking distnace to Beach Club (Rossie Favourte) Rum Jungle and the Thai bar, these are all knocking shops, these are all on Jalan P Ramlee, but I assume these are the one's reffered to as being on Jalan Ampang, the only place on Jalan Amapang is the Suk Night Club, full of chinise birds.

We stayed in Hotel Maya and booked it through asiarooms.com which seemed like the best place for price. It was pretty cool, nice room.

Can't reccomend it enough, excellent service, great bar, close to the towers and pretty cheap.

Shangi-la is a good idea, neer the bars in Jalan Pinang and near a mono rail staion, to get back in the night, and walking distence to KLCC and the twin towers, I assume its been refurbished, I havn't been there for at least 10 years, it was good then,

Yes but traders is not the quality of Shang or Manderin, as I keep saying the issue in KL is location, locationa and LOCATION, travel in the rush hour can be awfull, and you can't tell when there will be a problem, two weeks ago on a friday night to had to walk the last 500 metres to my house not worth sitting in the taxi in the traffic, this week same time right to the door no problem.
All the business hotels are good, and cheap by UK standerds.
