Having read the Turkish consulate web site I am confused!

I want to visit Turkey (Oludeniz) in May this year for 1 week on a tourist VISA. I am a UK national. The web site says you can either pay £67 through the consulate prior to going, or £10 upon entering the country. Last thing I want is to arrive and have issues gaining entry. Has anyone been recently?

Not been recently, but if I remember correctly, you just rock up in arrivals, go to the booth, pay the chaps there £10 and you are in, it really was that simple.

It's all pretty painless and well signed/documented - it must be, I've forgotten I had to do it until you mentioned it.

£10, $10 or €10 (from memory)

In cash. No change.

Ah, this was probably 5yrs ago.

Annoyingly, I had all 3 currencies in my wallet (I was in the middle of a huge travelling stint with work) but they insisted on taking the GBP. gits! At the time USD and EUR were 1.5 approx GBP. Ah, I remember those days.

Travelled to Turkey last October. Getting the entry visa is a piece of cake and I wouldnt pay the £67 at the consulate. All you do is go to a booth next to passport control, pay £10 (English note only), the official will give the passport a few stamps, then its off to que at passport control.

I can't remember if the passport gets stamped when you leave, I would need to have a look tonight.

Get off plane, go to the visa windows (I assume you'll arive at Dalaman airport?) which are right beside passport control. Hand over a £10 note, get a sticky visa paper stamp slapped in your passport. This is a 90 day mutiple entry visa. The border guard will then ink stamp over the paper stamp in your passport. When you leave turkey the border guard will also ink stamp the exit stamp over the paper visa stamp.

I believe the £67 embassy visa is a 1 year multiple entry visa, so only worth it if you are going back and forth many times.

Had the same thing but in my deference i had my boarding card from a flight from Washington the day before and i told them i lived i the US and they let me pay in USD smile so cost me a fiver to get in and have to say it would have been a waste of a tenner!
