Anyone going through Geneva airport ?

Came back from GVA last night and a mate had his knife taken off him at security.
No problem there at all - he just forgot it was in his bag.
They gave him a collection reciept, whereby the knife can be collected and sent through checked baggage.
Would anyone be prepaired to collect it on his behalf and pack it in their checked baggage to bring home.
Sentimental value is attched to the knife.
