Hi guys,

I am looking for a self drive VW T1 Splitscreen camper for my girlfriends 30th . I have found a company in Bognor Regis, But ideally I would like to find one closer to home (Newcastle) I have found a few that will hire out Bay windows from 2000's does anyone know of any, or am I going to have to take a road trip to the south?

TIA

Dedending on when the site was last updated 'Beryl'is undergoing a bare metal restoration, gallery shows it's not yet done(unless you can see diferent).

And it has to be a splitty, If i'm going to do it I had best get it right haha.

I dont mind traveling I'm trying to make it easier for her family, they are based up here mine are south anyways.

Cheers

Vanillasplits are the people I have spoken to, just trying to find somewhere closer to home.

Think I will go with them, Mr McHenry is the idea colour for her.

Yeah they were the first company I found with the Splitscreens, all look good, and they seem friendly.

Scooby Campers in Edinburgh?
Although worryingly their own website looks a bit dead just now. Hopefully just a redesign as they've got some lovely splitties.

Damn, was in a pub in West Sussex last night, saw some flyers and thought of you. So read the post and see you've already find them.

Good luck with the search smile

I used the guys at Vanilla Splits last year - great vans and well kitted out - but really only suitable for a couple as only the one double bed! Think they hired awnings too - which if you're 'vanning' for a week or so is well worth it as there's not much space in a Vdub!

More a chauffeur driven service but have a look.
Family member so can vouch for the service and quality of the van.

Based just outside Carlisle.

It is only for the two of us, but her family and mine are putting some money in and want to see her drive away.

Well, after a few more hours with my friend google this morning, I found a few more local firms with Splittys.

http://www.vw-camper-hire.co.uk/self-drive-hire.ht... are prob the closest to me, nice guy and nice looking van (will see it in the metal in the summer), also very good price.

So we are now having a week with 'vernon', taking in cost and location. The only shame is that he is not red and white.

Thanks for all your helps with companies.

Cheers

Hello again,

The time is now getting close, well about 2 weeks till I collect 'him'.

I am now thinking about camp sites, I have been thinking heading north to Scotland or west to the Lakes. Does anyone know of any good campsites in either area that are open all year round. (we have the bus for a 7 days so we will have time to go to a few areas.)

I have been thinking we will need electric hook ups as we will need a heater in October, unless we have another weeks unseasonal heat. biggrin

Over to you guys.

Cheers
