lads holiday this summer-anywhere in europe, where to go?
Discussion
OK guys im trying to arrange a lads holiday for the summer, was going to keep it in the uk but seems for not much more we could go abroad. ideally looking for around 3-4 nights to try and keep the spending costs abit low and good weather and a beach would be a bonus. i have been reading into belgrade, serbia and it sounds fantastic but my brother isnt overly keen on the whole eastern europe idea(im hoping i can talk him round) and it seems direct flights are very limited. was also thinking of madrid or velencia but i also need to consider these 'party islands' aswell. my brother suggested malta? but im not so sure.
i went to ibiza a few years ago and enjoyed it,less chavvy than i was expecting and a good men/women ratio and the nightlife was good but the place was rather pricey(£50 to get into a club and £10 for a beer!)
flight and hotel for under £400,good nightlife and the option for fairly cheap bars will be the main points knowing my friends(kids, uni loans, mortgages etc)
abit random i know, but all suggestions welcome

thats another option, heard its fantastic for what we want and will be put on the table when we meet up but i did hear its quite a racist place? (this would be a problem for 1 or 2 of us,for obvious reasons)
I havn't heard that myself or been there in a few years but then again i am white so may have been obliviousThere is always somewhere like split in croatia, i was there last September (well an island just off there but had a few nights in split) and really enjoyed myself

thanks for the heads up on split, looks nice
how did you find the nightlife there? is it reasonably priced?
We went in the off season so the bars were about half full so still ok, best early july - late august though.
how did you find the nightlife there? is it reasonably priced?Price wise it was very reasonable 9 local to £1. Pints were about 15-20 local and glasses of cocktail 30-45 depending on where you were. If your a smoker its stupidly cheap - 22 local for 20 Marlboro lights

Not a bad call IMHO - it's no Ibiza or any other party island, but if you stay in St Julians it has a decent bar/ nightclub scene with decent restaurants/ beaches too and doesn't have the expense of the white isle or the chavvyness of other party hubs!kiethton said:

thanks for the input, must admit since ive read upon the place it does sound like a decent place. was there enough bars and clubs to keep 6-8 guys entertained for about 4 nights? also what was the crowd like? ideally dont want a sausage fest
I was on holiday with the parents and girlfriend when I went (2009), so only saw the scene from a distance, but it seemed to have enough for a few nights - at least one big club with international DJs, lots of bars and all very clean - unlike some holiday strips I've been to... There's also a few beach/ boat parties that go on....
The crowd seemed friendly and with at least it's fair share of decent females - didn't get to discover how 'accommodating' they were tho for the reasons mentioned above!

Can't believe Berlin will be worse than Eastern Europe, especially Croatia. Recent history and all that. Germany is very sensitive to immigration at present, and I'd doubt a British person of any colour would have many problems.Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
