Where to go?

m after some destination ideas for a family Holiday ( Me, wife, 15YO daughter)

The issue I have my idea of the perfect holiday is a week on the Test, Dee, Tweed etc.. My wife has other ideas though and wants a beach holiday. I do however have some "rules".

1: The only charter plane I will get anywhere near is one I charter myself!

2: I detest crowds, loud music, disco's etc..

3: If i sunbathe on the beach people try to push me back in the water, so I need other activities, ideally fishing.

4: I don’t do tourist traps

5: I'm self-employed so a week is long enough for me.

The best idea I'd come up with was somewhere in the Caribbean, maybe the Bahamas, but then I thought how about the Balkans? I'm guessing somewhere like Croatia would offer good value for Money?

Cheap to get there. Cheap there. Clean and safe.

Short drive to some interesting places for a day away from the beach, including Mostar (BiH), the old town of which is stunningly beautiful.
