Caribbean in the summer?? young couple needs help!
Discussion
Hi,
Me and the girlfriend need a holiday this year, July/August time
We are after a 5* all inclusive holiday, I want to do the sitting around the pool as I am a sun baby but we also want to do excursions/activities such as swimming with dolphins, waterparks, quad biking, that sort of thing ( I have a phobia of being out of my depth in water even with a lifejacket on so we arent fussed about diving/snorkelling - I did that once before in Egypt and even though it was beautiful Im not putting myself through that again!)
We were thinking about the Caribbean, Mexico, Dom rep sort of thing but we havent got a clue about which country and area would suit us. If anyone could suggest anywhere that we could research further we'd be most grateful!!

Me and the other half are booking Mexico for next year holiday. Playa Da Carmen seems very nice and not bad priced, the sea is crystal clear and white sand, what more could you ask for....
Thats my 2pence worth.

Im not sure!! If its hurricane season I would imagine it to be humid and rainy on most days? If so I might suggest to the OH that we look closer to home i.e Turkey is a place we have not been before.
Any information would be good but I'd like to hear from people who have been to the kind of places we are looking for and who could recommend them. We dont want to sit in our arses all day with nothing to do but walk around the resort or chill in a hammock, but we dont want a holiday where its non stop clubbing and noise and where people pester you to go in their s
tty restaurant.

PdC Mexico would, as previously suggested, be fine. Don't get the idea that hurricanes are rumbling around the region 24/7!Any information would be good but I'd like to hear from people who have been to the kind of places we are looking for and who could recommend them. I have been to Barbados 4 times during summer months. Worst case was losing about two days of a 10 day holiday due to weather. We used these days to drive around and explore. Helps as the children need time out of the sun occasionally. Typically the showers are short and things dry up quite quickly. Summer weather would not put me off going to the region.
