Our wedding plans for 2012 will determine our holiday destination of 2011, so time to get the thinking caps on.

Somewhere short haul (for the in-laws) and preferably flyable from a 'smaller' airport, nowhere too cold and somewhere our less well-off friends can afford to not just fly to but also stay (rules out the really nice parts of Italy).

Suggestions?

I would argue that Lake Como fits the bill perfectly. It's not THAT much more expensive than the UK and very easy to get to from Bergamo Airport which has loads or Ryanair flights from the UK.

Very popular for weddings... http://www.hotelvillacipressi.it/english/index.htm...

Oh and see my profile too wink

Why not try the Black Forest, flights from Stanstead to Baden Baden, or an easy drive. Good value accomadation.

Do not rule out Tuscany for your wedding location. I am over here and find wedding locations (organising and planning of wedding) and cheaper accommodation for people all the time! (part of what my job is)

There are cheap flights to Pisa and also Perugia airport which is a short car drive to Tuscany!

If you want to talk about this further then feel free to PM/email me through my profile.
