Suggestions for a cheap family holiday in south/midlands?
Discussion
My girlfriend, her son and her friends family are planning on going for a little break away in July, somewhere ideally within 150 miles of Northampton, not extortionately priced and with a fair amount to do, especially for the kids..
Now me being from up north, I'm not too familiar with things like this down that way so was hoping you guys and gals would offer some suggestions?
TIA

There are a number of campsites around, such as Billing Aquadrome and Emberton Park. For canal boats you could look at Stoke Bruerne. All of these are within 20 miles of Northampton.
Alton Towers is within 150 miles I reckon, as is Thorpe Park.
You could look for camping and caravan sites around the Aylesbury area and then visit Whipsnade Zoo or Woburn Safari Park.
Punting in Cambridge (or Oxford)? Best in Cambridge.
Or perhaps stay around Hunstanton and let the kids go nuts on the beach.
Just a few ideas. I don't have kids, so what I perceive to be fun might be different.

How old are the kids?
You could get down to the New Forest quite easily.
My parents live in Mudeford (Dorset) and there is a nice mobile home/caravan site on the beach there.
Indeed. Look up "Sandy Balls" - I haven't stayed there but it gets good reports. You could get down to the New Forest quite easily.

PS - Also benefits from the *snigger* factor...!

Took me a long time to get over her so I'd rather not talk about it.

OP
My mate has a holiday home he rents out in Norfolk near the coast and it's regularly rented by families with kids.
Just a suggestion.

I didn't mess her about, she didn't answer my texts!

Not surprising though is it, after all, you were offering marriage, then went off after Karyn before the poor girl had a chance to respond

I don't know the deal behind the scenes and I don't rightly care to be honest, but playing the schoolyard s
t is becoming wearysomeGTIR said:
