Where to go in Egypt - April ?
Discussion
Hello, me and the GF have a week off in April and we really just want a week of guaranteed sun, relaxing by a pool. The odd bit of snorkelling would be nice aswell, so have decided on Egypt, but I'm totally clueless as to where to stay.. There are loads of hotels!
We'd like a bit of nightlife, few restaurants to go, and have a wonder about, so think Naama bay? The hotel I've spotted is Reef Oasis Blue Bay.. Any opinions? It seems well rated on TripAdvisor, or any others worth looking at!? We'd prefer All Inclusive.
Tbh any recommendation or help on anything Egypt would be much appreciated!
TIA

It is a muslim country, so don't expect too much.I've stayed a little way out from Naama, only going there to catch a boat. Great part of the world for snorkelling/diving, it's somewhere where people tend to be very careful about what they eat and drink though (Pharoah's revenge) and women can expect to be hassled by men in the street, so we didn't really explore restaurants.
Have you been to a similar part of the world before?
I'm going to Reef Oasis Blue Bay next week, the good reviews on TripAdvisor outweigh the bad ones by far! A few people have told me it's still rather quiet in Sharm at the moment. If you do decide to go make sure you sign up for some scuba diving and jeep safari! But I'd give the stargazing a miss unless you'd find someone who talks like Stewie Griffin telling you about Jupiter amusing.
Also, you should go to the water park near Naama Bay. There are some scream inducing slides there and plenty of shops and food bars.
The snorkeling is brilliant, you can see tropical fish less than 2 feet into the ocean. Take your own snorkel equipment cos it's very expensive to buy there, inc footwear as there are sharp things to catch your feet on. I was careful, my bf wasn't
You won't need a visa unless you want to go to Cairo so don't fall for people saying you need to buy one for trips. The stamp you get in your passport at the airport covers pretty much everything.
Last September I went to Baron Palms and it was amazing but this year there is a new hotel being built next door.
Hope this is helpful.
