Easyjet late eve flights
Discussion
Easyjet last flights of the day.
Do you find these are still running roughly to time?
I have a late flight back to the UK (not today) and a taxi booked 45 minutes later (at Gatwick) for 2am.
I think this is plenty of time, but have now been told the taxi will not wait if the flight is delayed.
I don't really want to move the collection time if I don't have to.
Thanks.

I once posted a rant that I've never, not once, been on the last flight of the day and it leave on time. People responded saying many had. Do you find these are still running roughly to time?
The point of my post is that it could go either way and while that's not the most useful thing ever - it's highly likely it could be late, so make alternative plans.
There mere fact the taxi company have mentioned it shows it's a common problem

I used to do a late Easyjet flight every week and had a taxi collect me from LTN. I got the same driver each week and always text her when I get to the departure airport giving update on flight status and then again when boarding so she knows what time I'll be there.
Bit of common courtesy goes a long way.
Just 'cos it's "only" a taxi driver no reason why you can't treat them like you'd do if your Dad or Mum was going to come and pick you up.

Surely you just ring the taxi company before you depart if there is a delay ? Something like "Dear Taxi firm my flight has been delayed by 30 mins so please come 30 mins later" should do the trick.....or am I missing something ?
Yes, because I don't know the taxi company.Trip has been booked through a company who have used another travel company who then booked the taxi!
It is not simple.
I was told that I will have to make my own way home if I am delayed (approx 100 miles during the night), which caused my panic on finding out how reliable Easyjet are.
I have now allowed 1hr 15mins from on time landing to taxi (2:30am)

A forward thinking taxi frim equipped with flight number might check for themselves on flight status you would hope...
I have never used an airport taxi firm that hasn't done this (and I've used a few). They'll be well used to it - and if they're not, find a firm that is. Doesn't mean they won't charge you for waiting time, which isn't unreasonable, but I wouldn't go anywhere near a firm that said they "wouldn't wait" no matter what time it was.Nicol@ said:

That's not acceptable, plus, and I'm not being funny here, but especially so for a girl. If I was relying on the taxi to get me home in the middle of the night then I would insist on having their contact details.Edited by Deva Link on Monday 28th March 13:53
