5* Hotel - 1 hr from Reading - Audleys Wood ?
Discussion
Am staying in Reading at the beginning of the month for the night (Sat). Have booked into Malmaison which should be nice.
Have the option of staying somewhere on the Fri night as well so looking for a good hotel with a great restaurant. Could do a pub with accommodation if romantic and good food !
Need to be in Reading for midday on the Sat so not too far away.
Anybody got any experience of Audleys Wood ? - looks nice on the web but reviewws are poor elsewhere.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks one and all!

This place is just the other side of Basingstoke and is very good. Might be more expensive though but has been recently renovated. Have a look at the rooms photos.

Ok, it's only 4* but - £95 for room AND 7 course meal (and it's in Reading...).

Depending on which direction you are coming from you could look at this which is West of Reading:

or this which is East:

Both very nice in different ways and both do great food.

Cancel Malmaison and spend two nights in the Forbury instead.

That's £95 each based on 2 sharing.Used the offer a few times!
I hate this kind of thing - that offer isn't available for £95. It costs £190.

The Cilantro Voucher entitles to a Seven-Course Gourmand meal in the Cilantro Restaurant for 2 people and overnight accommodation in a Standard twin or double room, for only £95.00 + VAT.

It really is...
It really isn't - in fact it's worse than I thought as I forgot the VAT. It should be illegal to feature ex-VAT prices. So the price is really £228. Not £95.site said:

You can't actually book it online anyway as none of the Friday or Saturday nights I tried work - even the voucher purchase failed.
