I will be travelling out to Scottsdale for a weeks golfing with the boys in a few weeks time. We are staying in Scottsdale, close to the golf, and will likely have a couple of nights out in Phoenix early in the week.

We finish our last round of golf around 15:00 on the Friday, and fly back to the UK around 18:00 on the Saturday.

We are currently debating whether to get a flight to Vegas around 22:00 on the Friday, stay up all night drinking, and fly back around lunchtime on Sunday, before quick change and on flight to UK. Or spend our last night in Phoenix.

We all know Vegas and obviously are keen on a night out there, but I have never been to Phoenix - anyone been and can shed any light on what we should do?

I was in a similar position last year (i.e. in Arizona with a day and a half to spare) - did a flying visit to Vegas and it served two purposes

1. It was tremendous
2. Staying up for a sustained period helped me sleep on the flight back to the UK such that I had no jetlag at all

Prescott is northwest of Phoenix.

4 of the 8 going to AZ were in Vegas in January 2011 - and did some shooting there. We were all rubbish (with the exception of a police marksman that was with us, and worryingly my 20 year old brother).

Bearing in mind 5 of us going have done Vegas before - we know about 1). 2) is what we are thinking.

It all depends on how good the nightlife is in Phoenix/Scottsdale as to whether it is worth it or not? Did you do Phoenix/Scottsdale when you were in AZ? What were your opinions of it? Only place we know of is the JJ Strip club. That is about as cultural as it gets with my mates.
