I can thoroughly recommend Dreams La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Can be booked through Thomson. I was looking to book a few weeks ago and end of May/early June was around 900pp.

Resort is fantastic and really is all inclusive, including unlimited bookings at the 7 a al carte restaurants.

My business partner has recently booked 2 weeks all inclusive in a 5 star resort in Cuba for £1000PP. Might be worth looking into. I think he said he's expecting around 30 degrees at the start of June.

We have done quite a few all inclusives, the best being Royal Palms Beach Hotel in Sri Lanka, everything is included, 3 restaurants you can book into, Lobsters brought up to the beach daily and all you do is talk to the Hotel manager and they arrange for them to be cooked for what ever time you like. Can't fault the service and the Sri Lankan people are some of the nicest you will ever meet. Should set you back between £1000 and £1200 per person.

Cubas pretty good but alot more touristy, all depends on what you want. We enjoyed both for very different reasons.

Koh Chang or Railay Bay (Krabi) visited both whilst travelling, they are very inexpensive and stunning.

I really fancy Cuba, Done Mexico with the RIU chain and loved it but prices have risen recently.

Are the RIU's in Cuba as good as Mexico?

We're looking for similar, but with a top budget of 1000pp, ideally less. We've done Dominican.

If it's Beaches Varadero he's off to, he might not feel it's 5 star at all. I certainly didn't when I was there.
