Getting married in south of France in July, going over this Friday to sort out bits and bobs.

We are buying wine from local vineyard but beers and bubbley we will be getting on the way out there this time. We get the ferry to Dunkirk and head off from there. Normally we stop in Paris for a night and take it easy on the way to Vaux, but this time we have to do the whole trip in one go so don't want to waste a hour travelling across to Calais when we get off the ferry.

Anyone know of any good places in Dunkirk ? or of anywhere here that might be as cheap or cheaper ( can;t imagine that though ).

As you turn off the A16 on the junction indicating the Carferry there is a Pidou that usually has a good stock of beer and wine. There is also an Auchan just off the motorway on the outskirts of Dunkerque.

Not sure as to the relative prices but in my experience other than wine most alcohol is cheaper in the UK these days.

As mentioned, there's a large Auchan between the port and the motorway.

The Auchon in Dunkirk is not as good as the one at Bolougne for wine as far as I recall.

dont bother getting it in Dunkirk and carting all the extra weight down to the south of france. Just find the local Carrefour / Auchan when you get there smile They all have massive selections of wine, and a fair selection of stubbies.
