My other half pulled an awesome birthday present out of the bag for me this week - a weekend in Paris via E*, which just so happens to be the weekend the Tour finishes in Paris.

Obviously it's going to be busy, but has anyone been over there to see the final stage? Any tips for where to wacth from etc??

Cheers

I will be cycling down the champs elysee together with 150 other riders on the saturday , the day before the Tour de France Peloton arrive , then we get to see the whole of the Sunday race before heading back to blighty .........the only snag is, we are cycling from London to Paris around 500km over 4 days

We went in 2009, you need to be on the Champs Elysess by 10am if you want to see anything, take your own chairs, don't expect to get near the Place de Concorde, most of it was VIP. It's a great atmosphere, and plenty of family members amongst the crowd.

It's a great day. Get there early - 10am is not a bad shout - on the Champs Elysees, as close to the finish as you can manage.

Enjoy.
