Couldn't find a topic for this and, I couldn't decide whether this should be in in the computer section or not?

Quick and easy question: Is it possible to buy a cheap (aka disposable) mobile phone at JFK?

Additional questions :-D

Is it cheaper to get my old Nokia 6680 flashed/ unlocked and buy an International SIM card.
Same as above, but buy a SIM card at JFK.
Or, buy one of their disposable phones?

I've been reading that my Nokia 6680 only uses GSM, whereas the main coverage in the states is CDMA.

Main reason for the phone is for when driving on route-15 - Las Vegas to Hollywood.
I don't wanna get stuck out there, and so would like a mobile phone.

Just get a "burner", as they're called, and use that. Much less hassle.

Cool, thank you.
I think £30 is fair enough - plus the person answering the phone pays for the call (I could be wrong on that?) So only a few $'s credit is needed.

Will google for retail shops at JFK that sell "burners" (aka PAYG) - oh joy!

Cheers for your help.

US has GSM coverage on the 1900 band, so if your nokia is tri/quad band and you have a suitable sim you should be fine.
