Blaming PH for my lack of studying!

Would just like to thank everyone at PH for my complete lack of preparation for my exams at uni this year! Am (well should be!) studying Automotive Engineering at Heriot Watt Uni in Edinburgh, and everytime I open my laptop, suddenly within 10 seconds there are various tabs open such as searching the classified and forum pages!
So to all the PH guys.... if I fail my degree..... you owe me a job!! :P

Well its difficult enough studying looking out the window when the suns out and there's a supercharged MX5 outside! Ye Garlick but studying is essential.. marriage is optional so I have no sympathy for them! haha
(just thought about a wounderful new section to the site entitled 'PH dating' though I think the ratio's would be a bit wrong! :P )

Well I think the best cars come from proper car enthusiasts, and every car company needs people with that dedication. Best example off the top of my head, is my dream car is a BMW Z3M coupe. Now these didnt start off as an official project. It was a group of half a dozen BMW employees staying overtime making a coupe Z3 with an M3 engine just for a laugh. The design was then submitted to the powers that be... and one of the best BMW's since the old E30 M3 was born, and the car has a proper cult following! But at the end of the day, in terms of motoring, we are the minority. The car companies know what people like everyone on PH want. But compared to the masses of Euroboxes that fly out the door... were almost negligable!That's the way I look at it anyway. It'll work. Probably..
But I can't claim it as research as I'm doing an accounting degree...Damn you PH, Damn you to hell!

Iirc, the Audi Quattro and the BMW Touring series also started from engineers doing a "what if".The XJ220 too, again, if memory is correct.
However, these days, it's mainly those marketing folks who decide.
Otherwise, why "Soft Roaders"?
Eta, just get your head in top gear, the tough time will be after you've been awarded your degree.
Which had better be a first.
