OK, I need to buy some plain black, formal trousers for work.

Excluding M and S, Debenhams and John Lewis where else can you go on the highstreet? (Not in London BTW).

I don't want ones with lining or dry clean only - which tends to rule out most trousers that are sold with suits.

Looking for material that is fairly thin and nice quality - i.e middle of the range.

The only other shops I can think of are Topman, Next and River Island.

Any clues?

To be honest, Matalan is actually pretty good! I bought a decent pair from there to wear on the wards etc last year and they have been great smile

Never heard of Farah - will check it out

I thought GAP didnt do formal clothing

I have used Slaters before but there isn't one in my city but as it happens I am going nearby one in a coupel of weeks so maybe I could wait.

Just out of interest how old are you. Its just that I used to wear Farah's to school 26 years ago.

don't do burton's. they're for short fat people. you try them on in the shop, and somehow everytime after a wash and a few days you realise they are baggy, yet too short smile
