comfiest / best safety shoes?
Discussion
Used to wear lined riggers but current job means 40degC+ ambient temps and so I'd sweat buckets in them.
I'm in the uk for a few days and looking to buy a pair of preferably trainer type safety shoes. Priorities are comfort and lightweight/breathable. not bothered about cost.
Any recommendations?

I have Keen safety shoes for the summer. Get used in Death Valley / Arizona / Nevada for hot testing and are about as light weight and cool temperature as you can get with a decent safety shoe. Very comfortable too.

I've always found the Timberland Pro safety footwear very comfortable, the trainers aren't the lightest but are well up to a bit of abuse.
I currently have a pair of De-walt (Nailer) low boots, they are very light but I don't think they'll last as well as the Timberlands do, but they are half the price.

I have a pair of Airside safety shoes (amongst others, it must be said).

Fantastically comfortable, they're really light as they're non-metallic (carbonfibre I think?), and they feel almost like trainers to wear. The sides of the shoes are padded as well as the bottom so they're lovely to wear over an entire shift.
They're heat resistant and very anti-slip - the winter tyre of the safety shoes world. And they're only about £50 a pair - highly recommended.

I've got some of these (but bigger than size 6!) Wore them in Saudi last year at 50c+ and not a problem, blooming comfy too!
ETA: I wear mine all day, every day- they really are that comfy, and they've lasted me about 2 years so far.

I use these when I need safety shoes for the warehouse. I can wear them all week and not feel them. They are bigger and heavier than they look, but not extremely so.

Another recommendation for keen shoes (I don't wear anything else these days; got 5 pairs), apart from the fact they are a pita to get hold of in the UK.http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/ss11/sho...

Yep, out of Timberlands, Doc Martins, Redwing.... these are the only pair I can comfortably wear day in day out. Lightweight and easy to pack when travelling too. Here is me hard at work....Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
